Martha Elizabeth Fenwick

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Fenwick of Magnolia Avenue, Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on February 24, 2010 at the age of 82.

Martha was born in Picadilly on November 14, 1927; she was the daughter of the late Samuel Wortman of Mechanic Settlement and Della (Teakles) Wortman of Plumweseep and the wife of the late Vernon Ellsworth Fenwick who passed away in 1984.

Martha was a member of The Salvation Army where she was also a member of the Home League and the Bible Study Group. She was a member of the Smith Creek Seniors, the Sussex Seniors Club, and was named volunteer of the year in Sussex. She was a former employee of Canada Packers, Barbour Foods, Tam O’Shanter, Friars Restaurant and Dixie Lee. Martha was kind, caring and so giving of herself. Her family and her God were most important in her life.  She maintained a positive attitude while making sacrifices for her family regardless of her situation. Laughter  came easily and words of praise and encouragement were often heard. She loved everyone in her family unconditionally. Her prayers for them would be to follow in her footsteps loving each other. Martha had been am example to her family, friends and community. May we never forget the values that she instilled to each one of us, over her lifetime.

Martha was predeceased by her brothers: William and Robert.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where family will be receiving  family and friends Thursday evening from 6-8 and Friday 2-4 and 6-8pm.

A Celebration of Martha‘s life will be held from Salvation Army Community Church on Saturday, February 27, 2010  at 11:00 am.  The interment will take place at Kirk Hill Cemetery in the spring.
