Sadie Parlee
|
|
Mrs. Sarah “Sadie” Blanche Parlee was born in Waterford on
May 20, 1912; she was the daughter of the late Ora
and Eliza “Lydia” (Armstrong) Wallace and was the
wife of the late George Parlee who passed away in
2004.
Sadie worked very hard all of her life;
including Parlee Meat and Grocery, the Sussex
Mercantile Block in the furniture and variety
departments, she was also a former employee of Joe
Campbell Shoe Shop, Vincent Jewelry and Jones
Grocery in Apohaqui.
She was a member of the Apohaqui Seniors, a
member of the Royal Canadian Legion Norton Branch #
76 Ladies Auxiliary, the Church of the Ascension
where she was also a member of the ACW; the Kings
County Historical Society, the Recreational Council
for Apohaqui and Lower Millstream and a life member
of the Millstream Valley LOBA #1389 and a life
member of the Women's Institute.

Sadie is survived by her son: Bev and his wife Linda of
Apohaqui, her
sister, Doris Wallace of Apohaqui, four
Grandchildren: Kimberley Cook and her husband
John of Glens Falls, NY, Heather Lynch and her
husband Joe of Truro, NS, Alanna Tozer and her
husband Brock of Ottawa, Wallace and his wife
Jennifer of Picadilly; great grandchildren:
Christine, Caitlin and Caleb Cook, Colson and
Zachary Tozer; Serena Parlee; as well as several
nieces and nephews.
Sadie was predeceased by brothers: Aubrey, Lawrence and
Roy; her infant sister, Kathleen and by her
infant great granddaughter, Courtney Cook;

Mrs. Sarah “Sadie” Blanche
Parlee of Campbell Street, Apohaqui passed away
at her residence on January 25, 2010 at the age
of 97.
Arrangements are entrusted
to the care of Wallace Funeral Home,
34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, and
(506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on
Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 and
Norton Branch#76 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a
tribute at the funeral home Friday evening at
5:45, followed by a
tribute offered by the Millstream Valley LOBA
#1389. |

A Celebration of Sadie’s
life will be held from Church of Ascension,
Apohaqui on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at
11:00am with Rev. Wallace Collette officiating.
Donations made to the
Church of the Ascension or to the Apohaqui
Community Recreation Centre would be appreciated
by the family.
The interment will take
place at Trinity Cemetery in the spring.
There will be a time of fellowship with the
family in the Apohaqui Recreational Center
following the service. |
