Obituary of Thaddeus Hilden

Mr. "Thad" (Hubba) Hilden of Norton, NB passed away on November 15, 2004 at the age of 59. He was the son of the late Thaddeus and Thelma (Clarke) Hilden. After graduation from Saint John Vocational School, Thad went to work with Battery and Electric and then UAP. Later, he was employed as a welder with the Saint John Dry Dock until their closing. He was a past member of the Norton Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Industrial Union of Marine & Shipbuilding Workers of Canada Local 3. Thad or Hubba as he was affectionately known, was always there to help anyone who needed a hand. He enjoyed listening to "Newfie" and Old Time Country music. Among his favorites were Kitty Wells, George Jones, Harry Hibbs and anything that was played on the Bob Henry Show on Sunday evenings. He also enjoyed barbequing, making his own beer wine and going back to the camp with his brother-in-law Ron. Thad will be dearly missed by his family and friends and the people whose life he has touched in many ways. Special Thanks to The Saint John Regional Hospital Pallative Care Unit, The Extra Mural and Wanda and Tracy for their unfailing support and dedication. He is survived by his wife Helen, his son Andrew (Tammy) of Oshawa, his daughter, Shelly Hilden of Norton; his sister, Irene (Ron) Johnston of Lower Millstream, as well as several nieces and nephews, Thad was predeceased by his daughter Heidi in 1972. Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176 where visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 from 7-9pm. A Celebration of Thad's life will be held at the Norton Wesleyan Church on November 18, 2004 at 7:00pm. Interment will be in Lester Cemetery. www.wallacefuneralhome.com
