Obituary of Benvie M. Sample

 

Mr. Benvie M. Sample was born in Stellerton on April 10, 1924, he was the son of the late Alexander and Bertha (Taylor) Sample.

 

Benvie was a retired carpenter and contractor and loved working with his hands. He was always giving back to his community and very active in many lodges and clubs. He was a member of the Zion Lodge #21, F&AM, twice past patron of Kings Chapter #21 of the Eastern Star, Past President of the Maple Leaf Unit of the Luxors Temple; Member of the Sussex Luxors Temple Shriners Club; member of the Saint John Demolay Preceptory; past first principal of the Royal Arch chapter #9, Sussex NB, member of Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 and Sussex Honorary member of the Greater Fundy Ground Search and Rescue.

 

Benvie will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Wanda "Aulay"; his daughters: daughters: Susan McDermott of Coles Island, Michele Nickerson and her husband Larry of Sussex and Bonnie Sample of Oshawa, Ontario; his sons: Stanford at home and Kenneth of Sussex; his brothers: Clarence of Stellerton NS, Reid of St, Catherines, Ontario and Sylvanus of Mulgrave NS; his sister, Lois Campbell of Stellerton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Benvie M. Sample of Penobsquis, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on October 06, 1993 at the age of 69.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).  

A service celebrating Benvie's life was held from St. Paul's United Church on Friday, October 08, 1993. The interment took place in Evergreen Memorial Park.
