Obituary of Yvonne Guilfoyle

It is with profound sadness and a lifetime of fond memories that the family of Yvonne Emma (Leduc) Guilfoyle announces her passing on Friday August 30, 2019 at Kiwanis Nursing home, Sussex NB in the comfort and company of loved ones.

She was born in Wilton, NH, USA, she studied nursing until her marriage to John Eugene Guilfoyle and worked at the Wilton Diner. After the family moved to Millstream she continued working in the food service industry. Yvonne was a great cook, homemaker, and very active in church activities such as Parish council and lay ministries for St. Francis Xavier and St. Phillips Churches. She enjoyed family, friends, watching hockey (Go Habs), knitting, puzzles and bingo.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Michael (Laura) Guilfoyle, Kathleen (Everett) Folkins, Yvette MacLong, Dan (Marsha) Guilfoyle, and Stephanie (Ryan)Schnare. Her wisdom, love and work ethic will be part of her 13 grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Alesha, Ryan, Joel ,Michele, Blake, Erin, Matthew, Megan, Brylie, Spencer and Cohen. As well as great grandbaby Asa and one joyfully expected soon.

She will also be fondly remembered by her sister Jeannette, nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives in the USA.

Besides her parents,  Medora (Legasse) and Aram Leduc, she is predeceased by her beloved husband John Eugene, her brother Willy and sister Rita.

A special thank you to Dr. Steve Allaby for his care, the staff of Kiwanis Nursing Home and Sussex Health Centre. May your journey home be light, Yvonne. The world needs more women like her, but perhaps Heaven needed her more.

Arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Monday, September 2, 2019 at 11:00am.
