In addition to family, Aline has left to mourn numerous close friends throughout the country and beyond. She gave so much love to others, she received it back even greater.

Growing up, Aline loved school, and cried when it ended as she finished grade 9, as she wanted to continue her education, but the family could not afford it. Aline worked very hard all her life. From her childhood helping with chores early morning before heading out to school, to her work with several families caring for their children and homes after leaving home at 18, to the work she did as a loving wife and mother in our home filled with the greatest love a mother and wife could give.

Aline met Eric by fate, as she went to Tilt Cove, Newfoundland in April, 1961, with her sister, Edna to help with her first child…and when she and Eric met, it was mutual love at first sight. They married June 2, 1962, in the village of La Scie, NL. Over the next few years, they built their life in the mining towns of Tilt Cove, Chatham, NB, Rambler and Baie Verte, NL, Wabush, Labrador and finally settling in Sussex, NB.

Her husband, Eric, her four children and seven grandchildren, were her life! Everything she did, every smile she smiled, and every hidden tear she cried, were for them. She was the most selfless person there was. She never wanted for anything for herself, but always for her family. Aline enjoyed watching hockey, especially her grandchildren play, as well as the Toronto Maple Leafs with Eric. She enjoyed watching baseball, and curling, and in the earlier days, she enjoyed mixed bowling and curling with Eric. Aline enjoyed her hobbies of crocheting, knitting, embroidery, leather crafting and reading humorous stories. She was an outstanding cook, a compassionate soul, and was always concerned about everyone before herself, even in her final days. For Aline, a friend was forever…she always kept in touch with friends, neighbors, employers from her early day, including their children and grandchildren. Once Aline met you, you and your family became her friend, and she never left anyone behind. The lives she touched were so numerous, she has left many broken hearts for having lost their earthly angel.

Aline will always be remembered for her incredible memory. She never forgot a person’s name, details about their personal life that they shared with her, including birthdates of hundreds of people who had the privilege of being a special person to her. She remembered every event in her life like it was yesterday. What day it was, what the weather was on that day, and every person that was involved. If you ever forgot something, you knew she had the answer in her memory, even in her final days with us.

Aline also devoted her life to her Catholic Faith, was actively involved in the church in each community in which she lived, and a member of the Catholic Women’s League in Wabush.

Aline loved everyone! And she told them! Family, friends, and most recently, her compassionate nurses and doctors caring for her in her final days.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dolan and the several nurses and staff who cared for Aline at the Saint John Regional Hospital during her journey, Dr.’s Stevenson and Butler in Sussex, the many nurses and staff at the Sussex Health Centre.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB, (506-433-1176).  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11:00am.
