Obituary of Janet McNair

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Janet McNair who died peacefully at the Sussex Health Centre, on Sunday, November 17, 2019. She was born in Norton, NB on June 28, 1920, wife of the late Earl McNair and a daughter of the late Burton and Sophia (Northrup) Langell.

Janet enjoyed her time at Kiwanis Nursing Home and felt as she was at home there. The “girls” as she referred to the staff made her feel very special and she felt she received excellent care by them. She also enjoyed her visits from Pastor Shawn and the times he would just sit and talk, read scripture, have a prayer with her or even have a game of cards with her. Janet loved to have visitors and she cherished the time her friends and family spent with her.

She is survived by her son Bill McMillan and his wife Kathy of Head of Millstream, NB; grandchildren: Eric (Lisa) McMillan, Scott (Melissa) McMillan, Karen McMillan (Randy Morrison), Justin McMillan (Natalie Cyr), Matthew McMillan (Laleah Molloy), Rebecca McMillan (Zachary Folkins); sixteen great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; sister Peggy (Bert) McMillan; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother George Langell; her sisters: Tres sa Langell, Greta Moffitt, Ethel McCartney, Ruby Sommerville, Freda Perriard, Viola Wolff and also an infant brother.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.  Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 1:00pm from Sussex Baptist Church, 28 Church Ave, Sussex.
