A pillar of his community, Blair owned the local convenience store (Nan’s Country Store) for 23 years and was mayor of Cambridge Narrows for 8 years.  He was head of the coffee committee where all worldly & local events were thoroughly discussed and all solutions explored.  Blair served on various committees & groups throughout the years, such as; Sussex Lions Club, Gagetown Liberal Association as 1st & 2nd Vice President, Home & School Association, PSSC as Vice President , District Education Council, Regional Development Corporation, C-N Early Learning Centre as Vice President and various municipal committees.  He was a leader in spearheading the first Community School in New Brunswick and keeping the school open.

Lovingly remembered by his daughter Kayla Cummings of Fredericton, son Brian Cummings of Fredericton, along with their mother Nancy (Kierstead) Cummings; brothers: Wayne (Jean) Cummings of Salisbury, Elvin (Ruth) Cummings of Newton; sister Grace (Mark) Armstrong of Newtown; nieces and nephews Melissa Murray, Andrew Cummings, Kathleen Armstrong, Brittany Armstrong, Marc LeBouthiller; numerous past and present employee’s of Nan’s Country Store; and two overweight cats named “the little one” and “the big one”.
