Obituary of Edythe M. Storey

It is with sadness the family of Edythe Maewood (Aiton) Storey announces her peaceful passing at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on December 2, 2019 at the age of 88. She was the wife of the late Heber Storey and the daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude (Hall) Aiton.

Edythe was a life member of the NBWI and St. Paul’s UCW. She was a member of New Brunswick Percheron Association, New Brunswick Draft Horse Association and the long-time secretary /treasurer of the Maritime Draft Horse Association. She served as the vice president at the Roachville Cemetery for a number of years as well.

Heber and Edythe raised and showed purebred Percheron horses for over 50 years and it continues on with their family.

Edythe is survived by her son, Harry Storey and his wife Donalda of Berwick; her daughter, Jane MacKinnon and her husband Vernon of Fredericton and her son, John Storey and his wife Kim of Berwick; her grandchildren: Tommy Storey and his wife Heather of Roachville, Holly Lackie and her husband Derek of Jordan Mountain and Ashley Storey of Berwick; two great grandchildren: Brooke and Colton Storey; as well as a niece, Kath and several nephews.

Along with her parents and husband Heber, Edythe was predeceased by her brother, Murray Aiton (Dorothy); her sisters: Grace Uhrig (Jerry) and Helen Cotton (Ernest) and by her grandson, Nathan Storey.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 2-4 and 7:30-9:00pm.  A Celebration of Edythe’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 1:00pm.  Interment will be held in Roachville Cemetery in the spring.
