Obituary of John Stephen Gailey

John Stephen Gailey was born in Sussex on October 13, 1977; he was the son of S. Sydney Gailey and the late Bonny (Radespiel) Gailey. Family was hands down the most important thing in the world to him. He had a passion for the outdoors and was a true outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish and go to the camp. John did an incredible amount of volunteer work with the Salvation Army Community Church and received his soldier status this past year. It was all about the hunt for John, whether it was staring down the barrel of a gun with Ryan or hunting for diamonds in the rough at the flea market and yard sales with little John. He had an eye for toys and loved antiques. He also enjoyed puttering around and working on vehicles. John was a give the shirt off his back type of guy. He would give his last of anything just to help someone else. Kathy fondly remembers that John breathed life back into her life when they met. He will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Kathy; his boys whom he was so proud of: John and Ryan; his father, Sydney Gailey; his brother, Sheldon Gailey (Brenda) and their son, Curtis all of Saint John; his brothers-in-law: Ed Parlee (Audrey), Stephen Parlee (Patsy) and Albert Parlee (Amber); his aunts and uncles: Edward Gailey (Anna), Nettie Gailey (Myles McAuley), Lois Gailey, Pearl Douthwright, Aubrey Gailey(Mary), George Gailey (Barb) and Carolyn Radespiel; as well as many cousins. Mr. John Stephen Gailey of Kierstead Mountain passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 13, 2020 at the age of 41. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held from Salvation Army Community Church on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. A Celebration of John’s life will be held from Salvation Army Community Church on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00pm. With Captains Lance and Monika Gillard officiating.
