Obituary of Clyde Sands

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clyde Edward Sands, who at 82 years of age went home to be with the Lord. He died peacefully with his wife, Verna by his side, at the Sussex Health Centre on April 18, 2020. Clyde was born in Saint John on May 1, 1938. He was the son of the late Naida (Rankin) Sands Fisher and the late George Lewis Sands. Clyde started working for Canadian Pacific when he was sixteen years old. He loved his work and continued his career there until he retired in 1994. Clyde’s greatest memories would be of the hours he spent at their cottage on the Belleisle Bay. He also loved to hunt and fish. In his retirement years Clyde and Verna moved to Sussex and he was always busy in their garden and working around their property. Clyde will be sadly missed by his wife, Verna; his son, Mark; his brother, George Sands; sister-in-law, Lois Bunnell; nieces and nephews: Ronda and Bobby Proctor, Rona and Michael Kyle, Ronnie Morrison, Randy Morrison and Karen McMillan, Barry and Susan McMann, Sherri and Dan Hourihan, Pat and Gary Brett and all their families; cousins: Kathryn Bridgeman, Carole and Walter Dainard as well as Christopher Kelter who was very special to him. He was predeceased by his parents; his father-in-law, Murray McMann; sister, Linda Sands; sister-in-law, Gloria Morrison; brothers-in-law, Bob and Earle McMann. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176). Due to Covid-19 a memorial service will be held at a later date.
