Obituary of Donald Stiles

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donald Walton Stiles, age 88, of Sussex, NB, husband of the late Marjorie (Holmes) Stiles announces his death which occurred on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at his residence. He was born on September 1, 1931 in Doaktown, NB, a son of the late Rev. W. Pierce and Jessie (Lutes) Stiles. Don was a known collector of Sussex Artifacts and his collection now resides at the Sussex train station. He was very involved in his community, some of his involvement would include; Zion Lodge 50 year member and past master, 25 years with the Sussex Shrine Club and past president, 50 year member of the Sussex Kiwanis Club and past president, honorary member of the Chisholm Lake Fishing Club, two terms on Sussex Town council in the early 70’s, founder of Stiles Plumbing and Heating which started in 1959 and helped revive crokinole in the Sussex area and started the Sussex Crokinole Club. He is survived by his companion Emily Morris; his sons: Paul and his wife Peggy of Berwick, NB, Mark and his wife Sherry of Calgary, AB; grandchildren: Chris (Shannon) Saunders, Bradley Stiles (Amy Adams), Jacob Stiles, Anna Stiles; great-grandchildren Illinia Saunders, Corbin Saunders, Jacob Stiles; step children: Bruce Morris and his wife Donna, Donald Morris and his wife Cathy, John Morris and his wife Jo-Ann, Allan Morris, Mary McFarlane and her husband Jamie; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren: as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Don was also predeceased by his sister Annabelle Conrad; brothers: Blair and Ken. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Sussex Health Centre and the Extra Mural nurses for the care and kindness during Don’s illness. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506-433-1176), from where a Masonic Tribute will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 12:30pm. All other services will be held privately. Interment will take place in Kirkhill Cemetery. Donations in memory of Don may be made to the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Shriner’s Hospital or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
