Obituary of Joan Armstrong

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joan Elizabeth Armstrong, age 82, announces that she passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2020 at her residence in New Line, NB. She is the wife of Curtis Armstrong and daughter of the late Charles and Hilda (McFarlane) Walker. Joan was a former employee of Pearson Insurance. She was an active member of the Sussex Community, being involved in several organizations. A faithful member of the St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Sussex Corner. Joan is survived by her husband Curtis of 50 years; sister-in-law Edith Armstrong of Salisbury, NB; nieces: Dianne (Wes) Lawson of Riverview, NB, Gail (Brent) McLeod of Salisbury, NB; nephews: David (Faye) Armstrong of Petitcodiac, NB, Ron Armstrong of Second North River, NB, the late Wayne (Brenda) Armstrong of Petitcodiac, NB; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Ruth Armstrong; brothers-in-law Ralph Armstrong, Lloyd Armstrong, Alton Armstrong; and great nephew Joel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506) 433-1176, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 2:00pm. Due to Covid-19 seats are limited. We ask that you contact the funeral home to reserve a seat. The interment will take place in Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner, NB. Donations in memory of Joan may be made to the St. Mark’s Building Fund, Sussex Agricultural Museum or to the charity of your choice.
