Obituary of Bertha Zillah Robinson

Bertha Zillah (McKay) Robinson's wish to pass away peacefully in her own bed at home came true on Saturday March 13, 2021.  Born on Nov. 27, 1921 in Wards Creek, NB to Daniel and Margaret Jerusah (Sullivan) McKay.

Bertha was the last of 10 McKay children. Bertha was predeceased by her husband W.J. (Bill) Robinson; her sons: Wayne and Gregory and by her daughter-in-law Eleanor Robinson.

Bertha followed the nomadic life of an Air Force wife having lived in six provinces and Marville, France. This constant motion evidently created a love of travel that she certainly fulfilled in her retirement years.

She golfed and cross country shied into her nineties.  She would drop everything to play a game of cards as she would then expose her feisty side. But bridge clubs were her favorite. There was also curling, bowling along with other activities along with a generous fill of Family.  It was 99 years fully used.

Bertha was one of the original eight members of her Atlantic Community Church (Formerly, Apohaqui Baptist Church). She watched it grow to over 400 members with a modern building overflowing with hospitality and good will.

She is survived by her son, Barry (Charlene) and their children: Evan and Ashley; her daughter-in-law, Marjorie Robinson and her son, Adam (Tania); her daughter-in-law, Marlene and her children: Royden, Angela, Lana, Sarah and Cameron; her grandson, Grant Robinson (Jill) and granddaughters: Wendy Addis (Greg) and Rhonda Robinson; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on April 3, 2021 from 1-3pm. Due to Covid-19 the service will be by invitation only. Online condolences and donations; as well as the digital feed of the Celebration of Life may be found through www.wallacefuneralhome.com

A special Thank-you to caregivers Shelly, Cindy, Lorna, Monica, Janet and Breanna; as well as good neighbor/friend Bob Wiggins.
