A much loved wife and mother went home to be with her Lord on December 28, 2005 after a short illness at the Sussex Health Centre. Helen Blanche Hicks of Sussex, at the age of 81. Born at Mouth of Keswick, NB, a daughter of the late Harvey and Blanche (Moore) DuPlessis. Helen was a graduate of the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1945 and a faithful member of the Sussex United Baptist Church. Helen is survived by her husband of 59 years Dr. Eric S. Hicks, daughters; Ena Perkins (Gary) and Barbara Hicks, both of Lower Millstream, grandchildren; Tim (Sue Ann) Hicks, Kinda Kealy, Marianne Killam (Matthew) and Heather Perkins, great grandchildren; Sonya, Alicia and Adam Killam, sisters; Pauline Armstrong (Douglas), St. Catherine's, ON and Hazel Phillips (Archie), Riverview, brothers; Frank (Muriel) DuPlessis, Charlottetown, Charles (Aileen) DuPlessis, Fredericton, Lloyd (Juanita) DuPlessis, Mouth of Keswick, Dale DuPlessis, Riverview, Bruce (June) DuPlessis, Oregon and David DuPlessis, Mouth of Keswick, sister in law Muriel DuPlessis, Fredericton and brother in law; ******* Wallis, as well as several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by a son David, sister Marion Wallis, brothers; Frederick, Johnson and Paul DuPlessis. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Friday from 2-5 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday December 31, 2005 at the Sussex United Baptist Church at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park in the spring. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
