Obituary of Myrtle Marguerite Goddard

After a brief period of failing health, Myrtle Marguerite Goddard of Waterford, passed away peacefully at the Sussex Health Centre on July 18, 2022.  Born on March 23, 1926, in Collina, the daughter of the late Alfred and Martha (Beck) Keirstead.

She is survived by her sons: Carl and his wife Valarie of Norton, Paul of Surrey, BC; three grandchildren: Megan Goddard of Winnipeg, MB, Justin and his wife Mandy Bean of Calgary and Jeremy of Norton. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Edna Goddard, Marjorie Goddard and Helen Keirstead, as well as many very special nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband W. Wesley, she was also predeceased by her brothers: Ervin, Earl and Albert Keirstead; sisters: Arvilla Kelly, Vera (in infancy), Bertha Moore and Freda Kelly.

Myrtle was retired from GE Barbour and a member of St. John’s United Church and was active in the UCW.  

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 4 to 7PM.  Funeral service will be held from St. John’s United Church on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 2:00PM, followed by interment in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Myrtle may be made to Sussex Extra Mural Program, Sussex Palliative Care Unit or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Condolences to the family and donations may be made through WallaceFuneralHome.com
