Obituary of Clinton Sear

Mr. Clinton Lee Sear of the Kiwanis Nursing Home and formerly of Penobsquis, New Brunswick, passed away at his residence on June 15, 2005 at the age of 93. Born in Penobsquis, New Brunswick on June 15, 1912, he was the son of the late Albert and Caroline (MacAfee) Sear. Clinton is survived by his beloved wife Marion (Carr), 2 Daughters - Patricia Ferris and husband Wayne of Sussex, Sharon Sear of Sussex, 2 Sons, Bill of Penobsquis, and Rick and wife Mary Ellen of Picadilly, 11 Grandchildren, James, Jennifer and Patrick Ferris; Beau Gaddis, Georgia and Laurel Collins; Pamela, Krista, Michael, Sarah and Nicole Sear, as well as several nieces and nephews. Clinton was predeceased by 3 brothers, Harry, Ira and Leonard. Clinton was born and raised in Penobsquis, NB. He began his working career with the Royal Bank working in Sussex, Sackville, Chatham, and Montreal. He joined the services for WWII and was assigned to the Cape Breton Highlanders in the PayMaster Corps serving overseas in Italy, France, Holland, and Germany. From shortly after the War until his retirement in 1974 Clinton was employed as the Office Superintendent with the Department of Transportation in Sussex. On May 27, 1946 Clinton married the love of his life, Marion Irene Carr and they raised their family in Penobsquis. Clinton loved family life and his home in Penobsquis. He was a good man, a good husband, a good father, a good friend, and a good neighbor. Clinton's passion outside home and family was sport, particularly golf and baseball. He was close to ninety years of age before giving up his daily game of golf in season and achieved a couple of holes-in-one and club championships along the way. His passion for baseball went back to his early days playing baseball in Penobsquis and as a life long fan of the Boston Red Sox. Clinton enjoyed a long and happy retirement; traveling with Marion, visiting with his grand kids, genealogy research, looking after his vegetable garden and his golf game - a life centered around home and family and friends in Penobsquis, NB. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be from Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 11:00 am with Rev. David Barrett officiating, the interment will take place in Pioneer Cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship with the family in the Church Hall following the funeral service. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Alzheimers Society or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
