Allena Christina Nickerson of Sussex, NB passed away at Sussex Health Centre on December 14, 2004 at the age of 89. Allena was born in Salem, NB on August 11, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Harvey and Carrie Blanche (Thorne) Murray and the beloved wife of the late John (Harry) Nickerson who passed away in 2001. Allena is survived by her 9 children; Ferne and her husband Rev. Jim Lewis of Rusagonis, NB, Ruby McCluskey of Saint John, Doris Carr of Sussex, Ruth Nickerson and Jim Cobham of Saint John, Marsha Ellis of Saint John, Rev. John Nickerson and his wife Corrine of St. George and Nigera, Donald Nickerson and Lori Maillett of Ammon, NB, Lois (Peggy) and her husband Sid Daniel of Quebec, Linda and Rev. Warren Shalm of Napanee, ON, 2 brothers Fred and his wife Bea of Woodstock, Howard of Belleisle, 2 sisters Myrtle Shaw of Ottawa, Helen Parlee and her husband Jim of Sussex, her brother-in-law, Frank of Sussex, 22 grandchildren, Roger, Carol Joy, Heather, Wendy, Lee, Dale, Lesa, Tony, Peter, Diane, Robbie, Dawne, Ricky, Kenny, Amy, Beth, Jason, Monte, Tanya, Andre, Patrique, Kelly, 30 great grandchildren, Diana, Timothy, Laura, Krista, Nathan, Taylor, Steven, Mary, Brandon, Cody, Kyla, Ben, Anthony, Meaghan, Stuart, Emily, Wesley, Kelty, Matthew, Jonathan, Ben, Cody, Cory, Korac, Dustin, Brent, Emily, Paris, Loik, Chastity, as well as several nieces and nephews Allena was predeceased by 6 brothers Ariel, Leon, Donald, Harvey, George, Ralph and by her sister Annie Reynolds, 2 grandsons, Gerald Veysey and Ronald Cosman and 1 great grandson Matthew Lewis. She was a Tea Packer for Barbour Foods and a former employee of Friars Restaurant. She enjoyed quilting, making slippers, knitting, sewing and spent many hours reading Christian Stories, gardening, making jams, pickles and bread. Allena was a member of Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Friday 2-4, 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 11:00 am with Pastor Dennis Munn officiating. Interment will take place at Wesley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church would be appreciated by the family.
