Obituary of Harry Dunfield

Mr. Harry Hylard Dunfield of Penobsquis, passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital on September 24, 2004 at the age of 94. Born in Springdale, NB on August 26, 1910, Harry was the son of the late John H. and Lury (Goddard) Dunfield. Harry is survived by Margaret Frances (McCann) his beloved wife of 70 years, 3 daughters, Doreen Crew of Nobleton, Florida, Margaret Brenke and her husband Charlie of Ocean Springs, Miss., Elaine Daley and her husband George of Penobsquis, 3 sons, Harry, Jr. and his wife Marge of Quispamsis, Doug and his wife Betty of Chatham, Peter of Stanhope, PEI, his sister, Nellie Layden of Goshen, 22 grandchildren, Gregory, Melissa, Beverly, Peter, Stephen, Paul, Mark, Marty, Toby, Jessica, Rebecca, Kathy, Theresa, Raymond, Doug, Karen, John, Caroline, Jamie, Sandra, Jeffrey and Shauna, 25 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Harry was predeceased by his son, Paul Stephen, his grandson, Michael Edward Brenke, his son-in-law, Marshall Crew, 5 brothers, Walter, Roy, Don, George and Havie, 3 sisters, Bertha, Birdie (Doll) and Mary. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a carpenter by trade, having retired from Department of Transportation as a commissioner. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Sunday 2-4, 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be from Penobsquis United Baptist Church on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 2:00 pm. with Pastor Gordon MacKenzie officiating. Interment at Cardwell Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Sussex Health Center Dialysis Fund would be appreciated by the family.
