Obituary of Gerald Ford

Mr. Gerald Leonard Ford, of Belleisle Creek, passed away at his residence on July 23, 2002. Gerald was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on November 13, 1908. He was the son of the late Septimus George and Lucy Rosena (Kingswell) Ford and the husband of the late Burnadeen K. (Pearson) Ford who passed away in 1999. Gerald is survived by 2 Daughters; Madaline Fowler and her husband Charles of Kars, NB, Kathy Boutilier and her husband Elston of Rothesay, NB, 4 Sons; Mac and his wife Pat of Collina, NB, Donald and his wife Janet of Sandford, Ontario, Ralph and his wife Elaine of Sussex, NB, Leonard of Belleisle Creek, NB and his brother, Granville also of Belleisle Creek. Gerald is also survived by 10 Grandchildren; Kathleen Mullin, Sharon Gallibois, Samantha Chan, Catherine Secord, Richard Ford, Dawn Mendes, Madaline Jane Boutilier, James Boutilier, Gregory Ford and Jolene Perry, 14 Great Grandchildren; Christina, Natalie, Julia, Zachery, Isaac, Tabitha, Cameron, Conrad, Kyle, Taylor, Adam, Amanda, Matthew and Christina and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His brother Erdley has predeceased him. Gerald was a lifetime resident of Belleisle Creek. He graduated from Truro Agriculture College and was self-employed as a farmer, lumberman, Christmas tree producer and carpenter. For a number of years he was employed with Glendale Mobile Homes. Gerald was a school trustee for many years when the first Belleisle Regional High School was built, and was a lifelong member of the Saint Simon and Jude Church. He had many interests, hunting, fishing, traveling, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Gerald Leonard Ford Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday 2-4, 7-9 pm. The funeral Service will be held from Collina United Baptist Church on Friday, July 26, 2002 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Allison MacLean officiating. The interment will follow at the Upper Springfield Cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship with the family following the Committal Service at the Lower Millstream United Baptist Church Hall. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Upper Springfield Cemetery or to the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated.
