Obituary of Russell Wilkins

Russell James Wilkins of Markhamville, NB, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre, on June 25, 2002. Born in Lisson Settlement, NB on May 13, 1910, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mabel (Robinson) Wilkins. Russell was predeceased by his first wife Olive May (Wood) who passed away February 6, 1964. He is survived by his second wife Mary (Morrow-Scott) Wilkins, daughters, Joanne Scott and her husband Paul of Markhamville, Vondelle Perkins and her husband Ron of Rothesay, Joyce Ross and her husband Howard of Quispamsis, step-children: Gertrude Cunningham and her husband Don of Enfield, Conn., Pauline Chisholm and her husband Hunt of London, Ontario, Arnold Scott and his wife Karen of Hampton, NB, his brother, Elmer Wilkins and his wife Phyllis of Anagance, 3 sisters, Mildred McKay, Helen Richardson and Alice Burgess all of Sussex. 21 grandchildren, Angela, Michael, Amy, Alyson, Peter, Michele, Dwight, Tommy, Heather, Lorraine, Murray, Stephen, Tammy, Jennifer, Scott, Kerri, Phillip, Geoffrey, Stephanie, Mark and Lisa, 26 great grandchildren, Caroline, Emma, Melissa, Katie, Corey, Shawn, Adam, Tyler, Patrick, Emily, Mandy, Timmy, Lacey, Mandy, Jason, Sara, Mila, Jack, Robert, John, Jakob, Natalie, Curtis, Adam, Jackie, and Chris, 3 great great grandchildren, Jasmine, Sheldon, Alex, several nieces and nephews. Russell James Wilkins Russell James Wilkins Russell was predeceased by his son Crandell who passed away in 1986, 2 sisters, Ethel Eise and Edith Wilkins, 2 step-sons Robert and John Scott. Russell was a retired farmer and lumberman, he cut and shipped Christmas trees for over 30 years. He was a member of Markhamville United Church and the New Brunswick Liberal Association. He was a former member of the Markhamville Orange Lodge. After his retirement Russell enjoyed his garden and was very proud of his squash. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506) 433-1176, where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday 7-9, Friday 2-4, 7-9. The Funeral service will be held from St. John's United Church, Sussex Corner, on June 29, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gene Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Markhamville Cemetery.
