Obituary of Earl Wood

Mr. Earl P. Wood was born in Hunter's Home, New Brunswick on May 28, 1928, he was the son of the late John Lee and Isabelle (Perry) Wood.

In earlier years Earl had been an active member of the Shriner's and Masonic Lodges in Sept-Iles and Montreal. He had been employed with the Ontario Northland Railway in Chapleau, Ont. and later on with the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway. He then founded and owned Wood's Electric and Equipment in Sept-Iles, Quebec. Following the sale of the company, and being an avid sailor, he left Sept -Iles on a ten month cruise which took him to Ireland, back through the Bermuda Triangle, ending in Shelburne, NS in 1977. he then settled in Mahone Bay where he established Wood Enterprises..

Earl will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Elizabeth (Betty) C. (Trenholm) Wood; his step son, Lloyd Miner and his wife Gail, of Lower Sackville, NS; his sisters: Vera Jeffrey and her husband Glenn of Bagdad, NB, Hilda Thorne and her husband Ronald of Edmonton, Alberta, Lizzie Steen and her husband John of Sussex, NB, Dorothy Daigle and her Edmund of Sussex, NB and Bernice Sleep and her husband Leon of Coles Island, NB, his brothers: Bev Wood and his wife Eva of Coles Island, NB, Charles and his wife Marjorie of Coles Island, NB and Jerry Wood and his wife Judy of Norton, NB; his granddaughter, Kelly Heydens and her husband Gerald and great-grandsons: Trevor and Kristopher, his step-grandson, Daniel Miner; his step-granddaughter, Kristine O'Reilly and her husband Michael and step-great-granddaughter Shae-Lynn; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Earl P. Wood of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia passed away at QEII Health Centre on July 28, 2000 at the age of 72.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of MAHONE FUNERAL HOME 32 Parish St. Mahone Bay, NS (902) 624-8241 and WALLACE FUNERAL HOME 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176)The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Monday 2-4, 7-9 at Wallace Funeral Home, Sussex. The Funeral Service will be held from Coles Island United Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 1, 2000 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Dan Brown Officiating. Interment at Coles Island Cemetery.

Donations made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, NB Heart Foundation or the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
