Robert Henderson was born in Whites Mountain on May 16, 1931, he was the son of the late George F. and Mabel D. (Goold) Henderson and was the husband of the late Angela (Angie) Ann (Mahoney) Henderson. Bob was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church. He loved fiddle music and made a large circle of friends through his enjoyment of square dancing. He lived his life on the family farm and also worked 29 years with the Department of Highways. Bob never declined to help a friend, never declined extra shifts on the snowplow in cold winter nights, and in the same fashion, Bob never complained during his courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Robert George Henderson of Whites Mountain, passed away at his residence on March 15, 2000 at the age of 68. Bob will be remembered by his three daughters; Colleen McShane and her husband Rick of Knightville, Theresa Brown and her husband Allan of Newtown, Laurie Gaunce and her husband Bill of Millstream; five brothers; Fred "Bub" and his wife Sharon of Florida, Bernard and his wife Barbara of Salisbury, William and his wife Barbara of Mission, BC, Vernon and his wife Robin of Mission, BC, Harold and his wife Willie of Ancaster, Ontario; one sister; Serena Henderson of Scarborough, Ontario; four grandchildren; Travis, Nicholas, Jason, Jessica, also by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Thursday 7-9, Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A service celebrating Robert George's life will be held from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, March 18, 2000 at 10:00 am.
