Basil Barton was born in Bagdad, Queens Co. on October 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Harry and Eva (Ryder) Barton and was the husband of the late Lorna Barton. Basil enjoyed the outdoors, especially Spring when he could work in his vegetable and flower gardens. He also like fishing and hunting. In later years, he attended yard sales and had a large collection of records. He was retired from Sussex Saw Mill Mr. Basil Gerald Barton of Lower Millstream, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 20, 2000 at the age of 68. Basil will be remembered by his four Children; Veronica of Kitchener, Ont., Byron, Denise, Jennifer all of Sussex, NB; one brothe; Hazen Barton and his wife Faye of Hampton, NB; three sisters; Sadie White and her husband Otty of Chipman, NB, Dorothy Farris of Cambridge, NB, Elsie Barton of Cherryvale, NB; two grandchildren; Helen and Michael; also by several nieces and nephews. Basil was predeceased by a brother Edward. A service celebrating Basil Gerald's life will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 22, 2000 at 2:00 pm.
