Jack Perry

Obituary of Jack Colby Perry

Jack Colby Perry was born in Cody's on May 15, 1923 and was the son of the late William Colby and Mildred (Proctor) Perry. Jack spent his growing up years on a farm in Cody’s and grew up during the war years. Being the only son in the family, he was not required to serve in the Army, however, Jack chose to enlist anyways. He served overseas in the Canadian Army with the Royal York Regiment until 1943. Just a short while later Jack met the love of his life, Marjorie Eileen Fanjoy. Jack and Marjorie were married on June 20, 1951. The two enjoyed many wonderful years together. During this time they had the privilege of being ‘dad’ and ‘mom’ to their beautiful daughters: Sandra and Nancy. Although their family was small, his wife and girls meant the world to Jack and he loved each one equally. Jack was a quiet, gentle, soft spoken, loving and personable man. He, together with his wife, could often be found volunteering time in their community. This was especially true when it came to the involvement the two had in their church. In addition to family, faith was very important to Jack. He very rarely missed a Sunday service and particularly enjoyed attending the weekly Bible studies. Jack was indeed a kind and caring man, who also had a fun loving side to him. He loved playing jokes on people, including his wife. Jack loved life and was full of joy. He enjoyed spending time in nature, going for walks through the woods and from time to time he could even be found working in the woods. Jack’s deep conviction to his family, faith, friends, and community are traits that will continue to be recalled with fondness by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be missed. Jack will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife of 65 years, Marjorie (Fanjoy) Perry; his daughters: Sandra Perry of Saint John and Nancy Knight and her husband Henry of Lower Jemseg; his grandchildren: Coady Perry and Charlene Butler of Saint John, Ashley Perry and Ryan Buckley of Saint John, Holly Anderson of Sussex and Carrie-Ann and Corey McGibbon of Spruce Grove, Alberta; his great-grandchildren: Zachary, Kelsey, Dylan, Sydney, Grace, Claire, Haley, Olivia and Harper.
