Obituary of Ellen McCaskill

Mrs. Ellen McCaskill was born on March 24, 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She was the daughter of the late George and Ellen Baxter.

Ellen had a passion for life and loved to make people laugh. She had a contagious smile and just wanted to have fun and experience all life had to offer. She had a passion for volunteer work and was very active in her community; from seniors groups to Sussex Hospice – all she ever wanted to do was be helpful.

She always had a positive outlook on life and loved her regular routine of swimming and JJ’s in the morning and many laughs spent with her bridge club ladies. She will be dearly missed.

Ellen will live on in the hearts of her children: Angela Jesso and her husband Christopher Penny of Musquash, Joseph Jesso of Maces Bay and Suellen Dupuis of Saint John; her grandchildren: Joshua Shannon and Hannah Dupuis; her great grandchildren: AvaLynn, Aubrey and Sonny; her furbaby, Jiggs (Aka: Pooker); her brother John Saia and her sister, Anne Marie both of the United States; as well as her stepchildren, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ellen McCaskill of Smiths Creek passed away at the Sussex Health Center on September 1, 2019 at the age of 73.

Along with her parents, Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Daniel McCaskill who passed away in 2015; her brothers: George Baxter and Michael Saia and by her sister, Joyce Mayo.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 12 – 2pm.  A Celebration of Ellen’s life will be immediately following.
