Obituary of Ronald George Pearson

Mr. Ronald George Pearson was born in Pearsonville on December 22, 1929; He was the son of the late Murray and Florence (Smith) Pearson and husband of the late Edna (Shannon) Pearson who passed away in 1982. Ron accomplished a great deal in his 90 years. A “jack of all trades”. From farm work as a boy, to working in a lumber camp, then as a young man picked tobacco in Ontario, was a bartender at the old Royal Hotel Saint John, worked for Atlantic Neon Signs, laid rails for the railway, had a great career as an Oil Man with Irving Oil, did contract work building barns and was always ready to lend a hand. Life was not always easy, but he made the best of it. He could be a stubborn man, but he loved deeply and was fiercely protective of those in his circle. His most proud moments were spending time with his grandsons, teaching and watching them grow into the caring young men they have become. He just recently got to meet his newest great grandchild which put a huge smile on his face. He was a wonderful man, with a huge heart and a fierce spirit. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He loved to tease and was always quick with a joke and a hug. He was the give the shirt off his back type of man who would always help anyone he could. To experience the being that was Ronald Pearson was a true honor and once you were his friend, you were his friend forever. He was a social man and his family always joked “He could work a funeral home like nobody else and always managed to get a hug from all the ladies in the room.” He and the love of his life Edna loved to dance and were known to glide across the floor on many a Saturday night at the Legion. That continued with dance partners Stella and then Nadine. Happy times not forgotten! He loved his family and cherished his time with them. Always had an “I Love You” and a “Fist Pump” ready. It was a privilege for his children to be at his bedside when his peaceful passing occurred. His journey, his way. Ron will live on in the hearts of his children: Ruth Ann Galloway and her husband Kevin of Quispamsis and Hedley and his wife Beverly of Quispamsis; his sister, Mabel Buchanan of Fredericton; his grandchildren: Johnathan Galloway (Lisa Noseworthy), Justin Galloway (Shara Munn), Jaime Trites (Shawn) and Shawna Anderson (Steve) all of Quispamsis; his great grandchildren: Jagger and Oakland Trites, Paislee and Hayes Anderson and Parker Galloway; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
