Obituary of Mildred Bradley

Mildred Bradley was born in Markhamville on June 24, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Sullivan) McKay. After finishing school in 1934, Mildred worked for Tom Howard as his housekeeper. After this she moved to Saint John and worked as a floor walker eventually moving on to the Provincial Hospital where she worked as a Ward Supervisor. Mildred retired from there after 28 years of service. Mildred loved to play cards whether it be bridge or any other game. She also loved to bowl with the seniors in Sussex after her retirement when she moved back to Sussex. Mildred loved to travel, she, Dorothy and Bertha took several trips together including a trip to Alberta to visit family as well as travelling to France. Family was very important to Mildred and she thought of her nieces and nephews as her own. Mildred is survived by her sister, Bertha Robinson of Apohaqui; her stepdaughter, Anne; two stepsons: Douglas and Bruce and their families; her daughter-in-law, Joan; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her husbands Thatcher Townsend, Gordon Cann, and Charles Bradley as well as six brothers, John, Lawrence, Alexander, Charles, Colin and Willard McKay; three sisters, Winnifred Jackson, Ada Jackson and Dorothy McInerney and by her stepson, Robert Bradley. Mrs. Mildred Rebecca Bradley of the Kiwanis Nursing Home and formerly of Magnolia Avenue Sussex passed away at her residence on February 11, 2010 at the age of 97.
