Obituary of Jane Wheeler

Jane Elizabeth (Ridout) Wheeler of Sussex, NB passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 15th, 2009 having lost her valiant struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. When Jane had time to spare she was employed by Paper Punch and Glass Alley. Jane was a multi-talented person, a beautiful tole and oil painter, knitter, crocheter, seamstress, flower arranger and as of lately rug hooker. Jane loved to play a great game of cards, Skip-bo or Scrabble. She enjoyed her gardens, birds, her family gatherings and visits to the lake. She was also a past president of the Lioness club, a member of the Tearoom Hookers and attended Saint Paul's United Church and one of the original founders of TOPS Sussex. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Born in Toronto, ON, she was the daughter of the late James and Sadie (Beckett) Ridout. Jane began her life long career in 1956 as a loving parent, guidance counselor, avid supporter, teacher of life and love. She is survived by her children: Terri Bonnevie (Blair), Judy Brown (Danny), Wayne (Yvonne), Cathy Maston, Hinton AB, Richard Maston, Edson AB, Sharon Kyle (Bill), Kim Annett (Ira), Christine (Peter), and Andrea (Lawrence), Ottawa ON; ten grandchildren Tricia (Tom Almon), Lindsey (Jeff Luff), Joel, Bridgette (Adam Sherwood), Luke, Ian, Shane, Blake, Ryan (Tiffany VanOostwaard) and Dayna (Nick Rudolph), 4 great grandchildren Kyle, Noah, Ben, Isabella, special friend Hope, her "adopted" daughter Lila Patterson, and extended family. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews from across Canada and the US. Jane was predeceased by her daughter Carolyn, her granddaughter Cassandra Maston, her brother Jim Ridout, three sisters Eleanor Little, Dorothy Corbett and Margaret Sweeting.
