Obituary of Delbert Adair

Mr. Delbert Herbert Adair of was born in Rockville on September 10, 1927, he was the son of the late Herbert and Janet (Parlee) Adair and was the husband of the late Ina (Gray) Adair who passed away in 1981. Delbert worked very hard in his life, beginning with Wallace Manufacturers. He then moved on to mill work for Blake Craft and Charlie Beatty, and then worked in the woods for Joe Pajjett. Delbert retired from the Department of Transportation in 1991 after having worked with them for 21 years. Delbert was a kind man, never having a harsh word to say to or about anyone. When he was younger, he loved to hunt, fish and even consume the occasional beer, depending on the occasion. Delbert loved music and would listen to the Country Jamboree every Sunday night. He loved nothing more than visiting with family and friends. Fortunately, he had plenty of both, so this kept him quite busy. They were as happy to see him as he was to see them. He enjoyed entertaining in his sun porch on St. George Street, beginning in early and spring and as late in the fall as he could. Next to his beloved family, he loved his animals; Cujo, Pepper and Snowball. Even though Delbert loved them all, Cujo was special. He always rode in the passenger seat and when Delbert had his name inscribed on the driver's door, he had Cujo's name inscribed on the passenger's door. Delbert will always be remembered as kind and loving to his family, friends and his pets. This is a legacy to be proud of. Delbert will live on in the hearts of his two Sons: Greg and his wife Sheryl of Hammondvale and Jack and his wife Susan of Sussex; five daughters: Bonnie Payne and her husband Edward of Hillsdale, Debbie Forsythe and her husband Terry of Waterford, Freda Adair and Mark Bourque of Quispamsis, Ann Flynn and her husband Russell of Saint John and Angela Adair and Rick Arbeau of Edmunston; four brothers: Lloyd of Calgary, Doug and his wife Betty of Millbrook, Winston and his wife Trena of Drurys Cove and Alton and his wife Shirley of Adair Rd; four sisters: Freda McFarlane of Adair Rd, Evelyn Price of Post Rd, Lorna Crothers of Drurys Cove and Joan MacAfee and her husband George of Waterford; 13 Grandchildren: Lisa, Jason, Jeffery and his wife Terri, Jason and his wife Ruth-Anne, Andrew, Andrea, Krystal, Aleisha Bishop and her husband Brian, Adam, Christian and his wife Lena, Tara and Aaron Mullin, Lacey, Andrew and Miranda; 11 great grandchildren: Ocean, Ivy, Katrina, Ava, Aaron, Mia, Claire, Alivia.
