The death of Rosemond Catherine Brown of the Kiwanis Nursing Home and formerly of Snider Mountain, NB occurred on October 10, 2008 at the age of 88. Born in the Head of Millstream, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Flewelling) McMillan. Rose was the wife of the late Austin G. Brown, who passed away in 1985. Rose is survived by her children David Brown of Snider Mountain, Faye (Roy) Varley of Burlington, ON and Dorothie (Gamil) Khalil of Sussex, daughter in law Carol Brown of Riverbank, grandchildren Leanne (Manty) Varley, Tommy Varley, Paula Varley, Shawn Brown, Jeremy Mercer and James Mercer, three great grandchildren, sisters; Miriam Haines of Hampton, Pearl Curry of Oakville, ON and Elspeth Jones of Montague, PEI and brother Bert (Peggy) McMillan of Sussex Corner. In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was predeceased by a son Robert Brown, sister June McMillan and brothers Harry, Mike and Frank McMillan. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Saturday from 2-7PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday October 12, 2008 at 4:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Allison MacLean officiating. Interment will be at Riverbank Cemetery.
