Helen Garrett was born to Raymond and Hazel (Lewis) Starkey in Youngs Cove on March 25, 1926. Helen was the wife of the late James Garrett who passed away in 1990, she is survived by two daughters: Donna Galley and her husband Terry of Plantagenet, Ontario and Diane McEwen and her husband Glen of Smith Creek; three sisters: Muriel Day of Sussex, Viola Parlee and her husband Ken of Waterford and Leola Greer of Brace Bridge, Ontario, her brother: Ken Starkey of Grand Bay-Westfield, four grandchildren: Scott Galley and his wife Christiane, Rodney Galley and his children, Elsie and Liam, Jodi McEwen and Donnie McKay, Jamie McEwen and Tina Murray and her daughter, Samantha; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Helen Alice Garrett of Primrose Cottage Special Care Home, Lower Millstream and formerly of Sussex Corner and Ennismore, Ontario on October 26, 2008 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by three sisters: Ethel Seely, Beulah Hourihan, and Doll Ferris and by her brother Leland Starkey.
