Obituary of Hubert Robinson

The death of Hubert Robinson occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 13, 2009. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Roberts) Robinson who passed away in January 2009 and was a son of the late Charles and Novella (Steeves) Robinson, born in Penobsquis, NB in 1922. Moving to Sussex, he attended Sussex School, after graduating in 1942, he served in the R.C.A.F. in World War II. He later attended Dalhousie University and worked as a pharmacist in Sussex for 46 years, retiring from Shoppers Drug Mart. Hubert is survived by his sister Anne Candy and her husband John of Sussex, several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his sisters Edris Bell and Ruth Woronka and brother Ronald Robinson. Hubert was a member of the Sussex Baptist Church. He was an ardent outdoorsman, belonging to the Sussex Fish and Game Association, Kennebecasis Naturalist Society, the Sussex Crokinole Club and in earlier years the Goshen Snowmobile Club. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Baptist Church, Church Avenue Sussex on Monday February 16, 2009 from 1:00-2:30PM. Sussex Branch #20 Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute Monday at 2:45PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 3:00PM at the church. Interment will be at Pioneer Cemetery, Penobsquis at a later date.
