Obituary of Ann Kilfoil

It is with great sadness that we announce Ann Kilfoil (nee Boudreau) passed away at the York Care Center in Fredericton NB on July 22, 2023 at the age of 84, after a lengthy illness.

Ann was born in Saint John, NB to Joseph and Judith (Robichaud) Boudreau, on November 24th, 1939, a few months after the start of World War II. She attended Simonds High School and went to teachers’ college to become a primary school teacher. Ann later moved with her family to Sussex in the early 1980s. She was a brilliant and engaged teacher, loyal friend and most importantly fiercely loving mother and wife. Ann was active in her community as a volunteer with a long list of organizations and causes, including, Big Brothers-Big Sisters and on the Board of the Sussex Public Library. She instilled the values of lifetime learning, appreciation of the arts and reading, and how to live a life of humanity and decency in all she touched. Her humor, loving guidance, and smile will be missed by all. Goodbye mom.

She is survived by her children: Christine Kilfoil (David), Ottawa, Valerie Kilfoil, Fredericton, Laura Guilfoyle (Michael), Fredericton and Richard Kilfoil (Cheryl), Toronto; 10 grandchildren: Erin Guilfoyle, Emma, Alex, Ben, Ian, Grace and Jane Ewart and Ella and Chester Kilfoil.

Along with her parents, Ann was also predeceased by her partner in life and husband Kevin Kilfoil, with whom she was married almost 50 years; as well as her beloved grandson, MacIsaac Kilfoil and her six siblings, Rita, Jimmy, Wally, Doris, Evelyn and Lenny. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). All arrangements will be held privately.
