Obituary of Gladys Wanamaker

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gladys Mary Wanamaker announce her passing at the Dr. VA Snow Centre on July 25, 2023 at the age of 86. Born in Nauwigewauk on August 7, 1936; she was the daughter of the late William and Edith (Hill) Ewart and the loving wife of the late John Wanamaker.

Gladys will live on in the hearts of her beloved children: Bill (Beth) Wanamaker of Roachville, Alice (Paul) Harding of Fredericton and Norma Manning (Trevor Sherwood) of Upperton; her wonderful grandchildren: Erin (Dominick) Colpitts, Joel (Carol) Wanamaker, Matthew Doucette and Kate (JT) Lefebvre; great-grandchildren: Austin, Blake, Everly and Beau; her sisters: Alice Lachner (Fred) of Riverbank, Elizabeth Kent (Bill) of Fredericton and Sharron Robichaud (Frank) of Nauwigewauk; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sisters: Barbara Speight, Florence Lamb, Evelyn Warren, Hazel Hill and June Dimock.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 2-5pm. A Celebration of Gladys’ life will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 853 Main Street Sussex NB, on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner, NB.

Donations in memory of Gladys may be made to Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society, Trinity Anglican Church (Sussex) or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com.
