Obituary of Gord Templeton

Gordon Leonard Templeton
December 31, 1957 - September 3, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon Templeton, a quiet, gentle and kind-hearted man who made many friends through his sense of humour and generosity. He loved his family and took special joy in the little ones as they came along. Their laughter and curiosity made him happy and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Gordon grew up and spent most of his life in Sussex but for the past fifteen years he lived in Moncton at Residence Siesta where he established a second family among the residents there. Stories from this extended family tell of late-night get-togethers watching Westerns or battling it out in video games.

Gordon was an ardent supporter of the Moncton Wildcats, proudly owning a diverse collection of team merchandise. His unwavering dedication to the team was exemplified by his yearly season ticket and even a few memorable trips with the team on the bus. Gord also joined the Moncton Area Scale Automodelers where he created numerous models. His displays contained planes, tanks, trucks and every make of car you can imagine. Some of which he entered in the Atlantic Nationals Bernie Melanson Scale Model Show. His love of all things automotive extended beyond modeling to Antique Cars, Nascar Racing and his Jeep Wrangler. His enthusiasm for these pursuits was infectious and shared with his friends. Music was another of Gordon’s loves, resulting in a vast collection of CD’s that span an eclectic range of genres. His playlist was a reflection of his diverse tastes and was a treasure to listen to.

Gord was predeceased by his parents John and Jean Templeton and sister Anne. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his brother Doug (Nadine) Templeton, children Ian (Stephanie) Templeton, Melanie (Chris) Snyders and their children John and Sam Templeton, Paige and Claire Snyders. His sister Kathryn (Ian) Hughes, children Andrea (Gray) Skedgel, Jennifer (Mike) Vienot, Garth (Anike Arsenault) Titus and their children Liam and Megan Skedgel, Cecelia Vienot, Sophia Titus, and his Step-Niece Jennifer Hughes.

Gords legacy of kindness and quiet wisdom will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) with a Celebration of Life from Kirk Hill Cemetery on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1pm.
