Obituary of Ava Suzanne Howe

On December 3, 2023 after a 5 year battle with cancer I announce my journey has ended.  Born September 2, 1959 to Andre and Helen (Chevarie) D'Alessio of Blackville, N.B.  The 7th of 9 children. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of growing up on the Miramichi.  Summer spent in or on the Miramichi River.

Having met my husband in 1980, we married in 1988. Shortly after moving to New Glasgow, N.S. I joined the Bank of Nova Scotia where I worked for two years.  In 1990 we returned to Sussex where Phil was employed at Potash Corp., and I transferred within the bank and for the next 31years made a career in banking.

We purchased a farm in Gibbon Mountain, which was supposed to be a hobby farm, but turned in to much more, raising many different animals over the years. Then along came our two children and all the sporting events that went along with them.

Life could be easy, or life could be hard living on the farm, but the scenery regardless of the season was outstanding! Left to go on without me is my husband of 35 years Philip Howe; my darling son, Alexander (Katelyn) and their two cherished sons: Logan 3 and Gabriel 1.  My precious daughter, Ashton; my siblings: Mitzi D'Alessio of Saint John, Sheila D'Alessio of Edmonton, Fred D'Alessio (Andrea) of Middle Sackville, N.S.  Jocelyn Steinbach (Hartmut) of Edmonton, Tony D'Alessio of Blackville, Camille D'Alessio (Armande) of Miramichi, Cheryl Williston (Derek) of Blackville and Rodney D'Alessio of Edmonton; my nephews and nieces: Ryan, Talia, Jillian, Jason, Sarah, Brittney and Jarret and several great nieces and nephews.  Also special cousins, Marnie and Bo Christiansen, Colleen Herman and special Aunt, Rachel (Howe) Herman.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 6-8pm. A Celebration of Ava’s life will be held from Wesley United Church (Berwick) on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00am.
