Obituary of Marjorie Snider

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Marjorie Anne Snider announce her passing at the Sussex Health Center on January 22, 2024, at the age of 87.

Marjorie was born on September 21, 1936, in Upham, NB; she was the daughter of the late Edgar Steele and Thressa (Jackson) Steele.

Marjorie worked as a teacher in a one room schoolhouse, in the hospital, a telephone operator, and a homemaker to her seven children. Over the years, she enjoyed having all the neighborhood children around and always had a fresh doughnut or cookie to share.

Marjorie had a great instinct in finding hundreds of four leaf clovers.  She was always willing to share her luck by giving one to anyone who wanted one. She was a great quilter, loved bingo, scratch tickets, birds, and most of all her many beloved cats over the years.

Marjorie will live on in the hearts of her husband, Royce Snider of Sussex, her children Louise (Dan), Herbert (Tina), Shelly (Trent), Sharon (Bain), and Wayne. As well as her grandchildren; Lana, Justin, Meg, Julia, Liam, Sena, Bryton, Haiden, Kiana, Ethan, Hannah, Sarah, Helen, Isaac and great grandchildren; Sylus, Jaxon and Alton.

She is preceded in death by her beloved children Leslie Snider and Cynthia Hunt, her parents Edgar and Thressa Steele and her sister Theora Hiltz.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, from 12-2 pm.  A service celebrating Marjorie’s life will immediately follow at the Wallace Community Chapel.
