Obituary of Herbert William Attoe

It is with great sadness that the family of Herbert William Attoe announce his passing, which occurred on February 4, 2024, at the Kiwanis Nursing Home in Sussex. Born in Erb Settlement, NB, on May 17, 1932, he was a son of the late Frederick and Georgie (Burgess) Attoe.

Herb is survived by his sister, Alice Vincent of Quispamsis, NB; his sister-in-law, Velma Attoe, also of Quispamsis; his nephews: Phillip Attoe (Betty) of Sussex, NB, and Walter Attoe (Eliane) of St. Stephen, NB; his nieces: Faith Jenkins (Mark) of Sussex, NB, and Heather Attoe (David) of Saint John, NB; Herb is also survived by his extended family: Earle and Marsha Burgess, Terry and Pat Burgess, and Ken and Eileen Brown. Herb is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Herb was predeceased by his brothers, Alfred, and John; his nephew, Paul Attoe, and his brother-in-law, Frank Vincent.

Herb was a well-known business owner in the Apohaqui community for his entire career in television/ham radio repair. Herb lived all of his life on the family homestead in Erb Settlement until just recent years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will take place on Thursday, February 15 from 1-2pm. A celebration of Herb’s life will take place immediately following the visitation at 2:00pm from the Wallace Community Chapel.
