Obituary of Bonita Whitters

Mrs. Bonita 'Bonnie' Faye Whitters of Sussex, NB, passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital on December 18, 2004 at the age of 67. Born in Saint John, NB on September 4, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace (Charters) Irvine and the beloved wife of the late John Whitters who passed away in 1994. Bonnie is survived by her 3 daughters; Pam Whitters of Sussex, Shelley McCollum and her husband Greg of Sussex and Sharon McCormick and her husband Steve of Hampton her sister, Pat Dysart of Sussex Corner, 3 brothers; Richard Irvine of New Line, Jack Irvine of Sussex, and David Irvine and his wife Donna of Fredericton, 3 grandchildren; Claire and Andrew McCormick and Molly (MJ) McCollum, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bonnie was predeceased by her granddaughter Maggie in 2001. Bonnie was an x-ray technician for over 30 years. She began her career in Saint John and St. Stephen and retired from the Sussex Health Centre. She was a former member of the CWL, a member of St. Francis Xavier RC Church and a member of the baptism team. She loved her Home and Garden magazines, gardening, her rose garden and going out with the x-ray girls once a week for dinner. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Monday 2-4, 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier RC Church on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 10:00 am, with the Interment in Wards Creek Cemetery in the spring. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Sussex Health Centre Dialysis Fund would be appreciated by the family.
