He loved hunting and spending time during hunting season in Canaan and the woods of his Corn Hill (Creek Road) property. In his early years he attended the Newtown Catholic Church where he took his mother. Joe enjoyed his grandchildren and had each one nicknamed to suit his fancy. He laughed from his toes up and loved to laugh. He was a strict father but inside his tough exterior was a heart of gold. His life revolved around his family and farm and friends. He enjoyed the monthly card games with the Dickies, Fillmores and Browns. He was the milkman to many a farmer for years, delivering their cans of mil and cream to the factory first in Havelock, then Belleisle and finally the Sussex Creamery. Many called him 'friend', but we were most fortunate because only we could call him 'Dad' and 'Grampie'. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday 2-4, 7-9.
