Mrs. Reta Geraldine Mitchell, of Birch Haven Special Care Home, Picadilly, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on January 13, 2003. Born in Newtown NB on February 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Laura (Manning) Cameron. Reta was the beloved wife of the late Gordon M. Mitchell who passed away in 1986. She is survived by her son Allister Butcher and his wife Sheila of Salt Springs, 3 Granddaughters Allison Leigh, Sharon Elaine, and Haley Suzanne. Reta was retired from the Maples Motel. She was a member of Sussex United Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years, she was a past Mistress of the LOBA and was a member of Millstream Valley # 1389 LOBA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Tuesday 2-4, 7-9. The Millstream Valley Chapter 1389 LOBA will hold a tribute Tuesday evening at 6:45. The Funeral Service will be held from Sussex United Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Gordon Walker officiating. Interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery in the spring.
