Obituary of Helen Richardson

Mrs. Helen Mabel Richardson, of Sussex, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on September 4, 2002. Born in Lisson Settlement on October 25, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Mabel (Robinson) Wilkins. Helen was predeceased by her first husband Walter S. Wallace who passed away in 1935 and by her second husband Harvey G. Richardson who passed away in 1973. Helen is survived by a daughter, Lois E. Hale and her husband Fraser of Colpitts Settlement, a brother, Elmer Wilkins and his wife Phyllis of Anagance, 2 sisters, Alice Burgess of Sussex, Mildred McKay of Sussex, her sister-in-law, Mary Wilkins of Markhamville, 3 grandchildren, Susan Barbara and Brenda, 7 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Samuel, Margaret, Andrew, Luke, Matthew and Peter, several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by 2 sisters, Ethel and Edith and her brother J. Russell Wilkins. Helen Mabel Richardson Helen was a former employee of the Fairview Bowling Alley in Saint John. She was a cook with many restaurants over the years including Stedman's, Hughes, Friars and the Westfield Golf and Curling Club. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church and the UCW. Helen enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing and cards especially auction 45's. In later years Helen's grandchildren and great grandchildren became her life. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Saturday 2-4, 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Sunday, September 8, 2002 at 2:00 pm., with Rev. Philip Dallimore officiating. Interment at Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner, NB.
