Obituary of J. Hutchins

Mr. J. Milton Hutchins, of Newtown, NB passed away at Sussex Health Centre on August 19, 2002. Milton was born in Head of Millstream on August 18, 1914. He was the son of the late Lorne and Margaret (Campbell) Hutchins and the beloved husband of the late Lola (Mason) Hutchins who passed away in 1998. Milton is survived by his daughter Mae Akerley and her husband Gordon of Fredericton, 2 sons, Bob and his wife Elva of Saint John, and Vaughan and his wife Valerie of Newtown, 2 sisters; Lorna Alward of Moncton and Betty Jeal and her husband Phil of Vancouver Island, a daughter in law Dora Hutchins of PEI, 7 grandchildren, Melissa, Scott, Susan, Christina, Barry, Krista and Keith, 4 great grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, Erik, and Owen, several nieces and nephews. Milton was predeceased by a daughter, Jeannie, a son, Basil, brothers Basil and Lloyd, a sister Florence and by 2 grandsons, Randy and John. J. Milton Hutchins Milton retired from the Town of Sussex where he was a Millwright and Stationary Engineer. He enjoyed reading western novels, hunting, fishing, making maple syrup and spending time at his camp. Milton was a Mr. 'Fix-it' whether it was carpentry or filing saws for his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed his garden and preparing 'milk' dinners in the summer with veggies from the garden. He gave of his time to the Minor Hockey Kids ensuring that their skates were sharp and their equipment fit properly. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Tuesday 2-4,7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Douglas Cosman officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
